It's Hard to Be Human

Overview

Agnes is a wounded teen. She's here to learn what empathy is. She was sent by her father - God. Loosely based on Strindberg's A Dream Play, It's Hard To Be Human is a raw, visceral and surreal journey into the liminal space between life and death. This screenplay of the Valerie Buhagiar film includes dozens of full colour stills, and a compelling conversation between Buhagiar and her long-time friend and frequent collaborator Don McKellar. A must for students of Canadian film and fans of the innovative and experimental.
