It Spells Trouble

Overview

Mage Jannick Pederson thought it was a simple assignment: help the gryphon leader find some missing human children and then go home. A noble cause, even if he didn't much like the abrasive jerk. So why didn't someone tell him he'd be working closely with the leader's son instead? That hot piece of perfection could make even happily-single Jannick give up his no-strings-attached ways. Gryphon shifter Conall Arwan has simple goals for his life: get his PhD in pediatric shifter social work and stay off the radar of his disapproving father. When his father orders him to work with a hot but arrogant mage to find missing human kids, all Conall sees is how it pushes back his graduation date. Again. And even if the mage unexpectedly turns out to be not so bad--and maybe even a little sweet--there's still no future for them. Conall's dad has plans for him and they don't include getting involved with a sexy, infuriating mage. But fate has other ideas. Contains mature themes.

Author Information

Andy Gallo's stories capture how he wished he'd spent his formative years, instead of how it really happened. Unfortunately for his characters, they find themselves infused with some of Andy's less noble qualities. A hopeless romantic, Andy writes seated next to a hundred year old Smith Brothers typewriter he inherited from his grandfather. He also dreams of superheroes and wizards and sees no reason why two men with superpowers can't fall in love just like everyone else. Although not all his stories have a paranormal bent, a touch of the supernatural never derailed a good read in his mind. Married and living his happy every after, Andy helps others find their happy endings in the pages of his stories. He and his husband of more than twenty-five years spend their days rubbing elbows with other parents as they raise their daughter. Embracing his status as the gay dad, Andy sometimes has to remind others that one does want a hint of color even when chasing after their child. After fifteen years of empowering young people to find their voices through drama, poetry, and literature as an award-winning speech and debate coach, Kirt Graves found his own voice as an audiobook narrator. He brings clarity, empathy, and humor to stories spanning dystopian sci-fi, urban and high fantasy, contemporary romance, and, most significantly, young adult fiction that reflects his own experience growing up gay in the Midwest. As an adult with depression, anxiety, ADHD, and OCD, Kirt hopes to destigmatize mental health disorders and neurodiversity by reframing atypical thinking as a superpower rather than a disability. He is an advocate for the inclusive casting of human narrators in audiobooks. Off-mic, Kirt is a graphic artist, a political junkie, and a theater director.
