Overview

Matthew Abraham is a drug dealer being forced out of his empire in Baltimore, Maryland. Rather than submitting to the pressures of the younger dealers, he decides to destroy his empire and leave his neighborhood turf with his baby mother and seven year old daughter Destiny, leaving behind a gang war to take up residence in Negro Mountain, located along the Mason-Dixon line. Destiny, disturbed and frightened by her parents' gang banging lifestyle, turns to the spirits of her departed grandmother and of Negro Mountain itself who speak to her through the dolls she plays with, and bestow upon her powers to manipulate nature through prayer. The saying is, Negro Mountain is a place where bad things happen to bad people. So when negative energy meets with the energy resting in Negro Mountain the outcome is always the same. The Mountain wins. Author Jeff Carroll has written the Hip Hop Dating Guide and produced the movie Gold Digger Killer and is a dedicated Sci-fi writer with many work from books to films to comics over the years, and It Happened on Negro Mountain is one of his best storytelling efforts where the tale's characters and events will leave any fan of science fiction, horror, and psychological wonder and terror thirsty for more!

Jeff Carroll is a writer and filmmaker who is, at his core, an activist. His writings have a social message. He has written both non-fiction and fiction. He says he has an L. Ron Hubbard complex because he hopes to write so well it will change the behavior of people. He has written the Hip Hop Dating Guide and produced the movie Gold Digger Killer. He is a dedicated Sci-fi writer having released his first Sci-fi book in 2013, Thug Angel Rebirth of a Gargoyle. His short stories have been published in the anthology Bloodlines, Tales from the African Diaspora, Shriekfreak Quarterly magazine and the Black Science Fiction Society's Genesis magazine. In addition to his writings, Jeff Carroll is the first Hip Hop dating coach and he speaks to college and high school students about healthy dating. He lives in South Florida with his wife and son.
