Overview

New legislation has serious implications for your company, your reporting and the design of your IT systems. Corporate fraud, illegal use of resources, sexual and racial harassment all increasingly occur in the digital domain. Directors face potentially huge fines and in some cases imprisonment for breach of the law. Are you aware of the sections of the Companies (Audit, Investigations and Community Enterprise) Act, 2004 affecting IT Governance? They came into effect in April 2005. Do you know what their implications are for your business? Good IT governance is central to good organisational governance. You cannot control what you can't measure. This specially commissioned report sets out: what the latest legislation says and what it means; its impact on the organization as a whole and on the IT group specifically; how to implement an effective IT governance initiative in your company; and above all you ensure transparency and avoid a corporate horror-story in your company. This report is intended for: board-level directors responsible for organisational governance and therefore good governance of automated systems; IT managers responsible for ensuring that the organisation's governance policies are effectively implemented; IT practitioners who want to assess the impact of an increased emphasis on corporate governance in their working life; and auditors keen to get to grips with IT governance issues. Did you know, this report has CPD hours accredited to it! Thorogood legal reports are accredited by The Solicitors Regulation Authority (CPD reference DVQ/THPU) for continuing professional development as distance learning education. Don't miss out on this chance to collect your hours! NB: Solicitors may claim up to 75 per cent (12 hours) of their annual CPD requirement by undertaking distance learning education.
