He excavated at several sites in Israel and the UK and is currently directing the excavations at Tel 'Eton in Israel. His research concentrates on Bronze and Iron Age Israel, mainly from an anthropological perspective and he is the author of The Israelite Society in the Period of the Monarchy: an Archaeological Perspective (2005, Yad Ben Zvi; in Hebrew).
