There is an increased departure of the American and Western cultures from belief in a Creator. Subsequently, these cultures who lead the world in scientific and economic advancement are also departing from traditional Christian beliefs and values. Religions of all kinds, not just the Christian faith, are struggling to remain relevant in a fast-changing and diverse world. To counter the modern departure from theistic paradigms, this book challenges scientific theories, especially Evolution via Natural Selection. Glenn Brewton provides the rationale, both logically and biblically, of how the theoretical basis of Natural Selection falls short of explaining the origin of mankind and the creation as a whole. This book also discusses the Big Bang theory and general physics, and shows a parallel to the first chapter of the Book of Genesis. If you are confused about Darwinian Evolution, or confused about the Bible, this book will help state what each really offers the modern person. The author hopes, as well, that the idea of a Creator will be at least reconsidered, and ultimately, the Creator's Son, Jesus, will become anything but obsolete in modern American and Western culture, if not the world.

Author Information

Glenn Brewton is an Alabama native with a passion for eschatology and other spiritual topics. He makes a living as a commercial project manager in the building and roofing industries. With his writing projects, Glenn hopes to build interest among young people who need help in removing obstacles to faith in Jesus Christ. Believing, knowing, and following Jesus is a struggle in the modern science-based culture, which views the Bible, the source of believing and knowing Him, as irrelevant. Glenn's greatest desire with the publication of his first book is to show that not only is Jesus not obsolete, but He is more relevant than ever in today's modern, often chaotic world. Earning his B.A. in English and journalism at Samford University in 1983, Glenn went on to obtain a Master of Divinity degree through Samford's Beeson Divinity School in 1996. Some of the many future writing projects Glenn is working on include a companion book to Is Jesus Obsolete? that will address Darwinian evolution and its biological basis in view of physics, an eschatology book, and a book covering his father's genealogy. Glenn and his family are active in their church and serve through small group ministry. Glenn lives in Homewood, Alabama, a suburb of Birmingham, with his wife and their three children.
