Mark Pimentel, MD, FRCPC, is the Director of the Gastrointestinal Motility Program and Laboratory at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and also serves as an Assistant Professor in Residence for the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Pimentel's primary research interests include irritable bowel syndrome and its relationship to small intestinal motility and bacterial overgrowth, others being gastric motility in diabetes. He is a member of several professional organizations like the Medical Council of Canada, American Gastroenterological Association and American College of Gastroenterology. Dr. Pimentel has been awarded various investigator-driven grants related to gastrointestinal motility. He has written articles for peer-reviewed publications such as Archives of Internal Medicine, American Journal of Gastroenterology, etc. He has also authored the book A New IBS Solution.
