Iodine Made Simple is organized into eight chapters that cover what iodine is and its various uses in the environment, technology and information, forms of analysis, health applications, agricultural applications, and next-generation technology. Each chapter is divided into several sections that consist of pages with text on the left and corresponding illustrations and graphics (including chemical structures) on the facing right page. Additionally, the chapters conclude with columns, which describe related topics in further detail. Most significantly, the work highlights the importance of iodine in many different elements of both life and nature.
