Before joining the University of Nebraska at Omaha, he taught courses in sociology and Africana studies at James Madison University. Dr. Imani earned his Ph.D. and M.A. in sociology and an M.A. in political science from the University of Florida. He also holds a B.S.F.S. in international politics from Georgetown University.
