He has held many positions in Education and his previous titles include: Lecturer, Head of Department, Registrar (Admissions), JAMB Coordinator, Dean of School of Education and Deputy Provost of the Federal College of Education, Pankshin. He was also a faculty member of the General Studies Department at the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State. He was appointed as a Visiting Professor at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada. Professor Ogbulafor has written books including Moral Philosophy: Implications for Global Ethics and Human Rights and Understanding Nigeria's Philosophy of Education . He is also credited with chapter contributions to several books and has written scholarly papers of international standard.
