Overview

This book describes the pathoanatomical, pathophysiological, and imaging features of vascular malformations and aneurysms of the brain and the modern, minimally invasive endovascular methods or techniques employed in their treatment. Individual chapters are devoted to venous malformations, capillary telangiectasias and cavernomas, pial arteriovenous malformations, dural arteriovenous malformations, and intracranial aneurysms. Each chapter is subdivided into four principal sections on pathology, clinical presentation, diagnostic imaging, and therapy, ensuring a standardized approach throughout. The book is richly illustrated with numerous informative CT, MR and DSA images.

Reviews

From the reviews:
It is a multi authored book divided into 5 chapters; each covering the pathology, clinical presentation, imaging and therapy of the four major pathological categories of vascular malformations a ] . classic subdivisions are strictly maintained and result in a very uniform text.a ] It will therefore interest trainees and practitioners of endovascular therapies but since it is short, succinct and well illustrated it will also interest neurosurgeons and neurologists who want an update on this rapidly changing discipline. (Acta Neurochirurgica, Vol. 147 (4), 2005)
This slim 250-page five chapter volume contains a wealth of detailed and referenced information on many intracranial vascular lesions a ] . it gives the necessary data base for those readers who wish to corroborate or follow-up on any aspects discussed. a ] the book is excellently and generously illustrated. a ] an excellent addition to the current literature. It provides a secure platform from which neurological specialists of all persuasions can build their understanding of the considered conditions and their potential treatment options.
