Interview With CPT Andrew Arola

Overview

In this interview CPT Arola discusses his experience as a platoon leader in an AT company from Korea deployed to Iraq in support of OIF in 2004 and 2005. CPT Arola takes us through his daily operations working on MSR Michigan and the difficulties he and his platoon had working MSR security 24/7. CPT Arola talks about when he was wounded on one of those missions and how he recovered in theater and returned to duty to his platoon. CPT Arola also discusses the problems his unit had when the redeployed, not back to Korea but to Fort Carson, Colorado. CPT Arola concludes his interview by discussing the importance of having a strong, well-functioning FRG in place when a unit deploys.
