Internet in Egypt

Overview

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Egypt has a modern Internet infrastructure, including widespread broadband Internet access via ADSL. Starting on midnight of 27/28 January 2011 (Cairo time), widespread political protests against the Egyptian government led to the government imposing partial Internet censorship, followed by an almost complete shutdown of international Internet access between Egypt and the rest of the world. As of 2 February 2011, normal connectivity appears to have been mostly restored.
