Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationDr. İsmet Güney received his PhD in Human Geography from Ankara University. He is currently a faculty member at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University. His academic work focuses on human-environment interactions, spatial representations, environmental discourse, and cultural geography. Over the years, Dr. Güney has contributed to the field through numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and interdisciplinary research projects. His research often combines qualitative and quantitative approaches, with particular emphasis on bibliometric analysis, phenomenological methods, and discourse theory. Dr. Güney continues to participate in both national and international collaborations addressing contemporary geographic challenges. Dr. Mehmet Ali Çelik earned his Ph.D. in Philosophy and Religion from the Graduate School of Social Sciences at Çukurova University in 2018, and holds a second doctoral degree in Geography from the Graduate School of Social Sciences at Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University (2016). He also completed his Master's in Geographic Information Systems at Ege University and a second Master’s in Geography at Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University, after receiving his initial B.A. in Geography from Süleyman Demirel University . He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Physical Geography Division at the Department of Geography, Faculty of Arts & Sciences, Iğdır University . His research spans remote sensing, drought and climate variability assessment, land-use/land-cover change, ecological crisis studies, and environmental ethics. Dr. Çelik has authored and co-authored over 100 scholarly works, including articles in both national and international peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and project reports. Notable publications include investigations of vegetation response to drought using satellite-derived indices (NDVI, EVI, VCI), multi-criteria risk assessments of natural hazards, and bibliometric analyses of drought research. He has also contributed to edited volumes on ecological crisis and participated actively in international symposia on geography, ecology, and environmental studies. His interdisciplinary methodology combines GIS-based spatial analysis with environmental ethics and socio-ecological inquiry, particularly focused on regions of Eastern Anatolia. At Iğdır University, Dr. Çelik teaches advanced courses in remote sensing, GIS, and environmental geography, while also supervising graduate theses. He continues to develop collaborative projects that address contemporary challenges at the intersection of climate change, land use, and ethical-environmental considerations.
