Overview

This book and DVD package describes the theory and technique of reflexology and introduces a new alternative approach to the practice of reflexology (Integrative Reflexology). The technique has been developed by the author over more than 30 years of teaching and practising the subject. She has received a life time award from the AMTA for developing the technique and for the contribution she has made to massage therapy. Reflexology is know to be highly effective but there has been little research in the field so there is little documented evidence to support its use. Where such evidence it exists it will be referenced by the author. When information in the text is based on long experience alone this will be made clear. Author Information

Claire Marie Miller has created an evolutionary approach to the ancient art of reflexology. This unique application is easy, fun to do, and minimises risk of injury from over-use of the thumbs. Claire's background in radiology (1972-1979) set the stage for her vision of foot reflexology in a clear anatomically-based foot chart. Claire attended the premier Boulder School of Massage Therapy in 1979 where she was introduced to this simple yet profound modality. She began the certifying of therapists in the Integrative Reflexology(R) method in 1993. To date Claire has instructed 10,000-plus students in the US and internationally. She continues to be an innovator in the field of reflexology. She has created new approaches with Muscle Reflexology and the Meridian system, Lymphatic detoxification with reflexology, and the fun, and therapeutic, Hot Rockin Reflexology, and Sweet Feet Aromatherapy. Claire Marie Miller is a nationally certified, NC state licensed, and AMTA registered massage therapist. She is an inductee into the Massage Hall of Fame 2010.
