While everyone talks about integration, McMinn and Campbell actually do it. Their book is easy to read and practical without sacrificing a more nuanced understanding of the complex relationship between Christianity and psychology. Integrative Psychotherapy is an example of integration at its finest. McMinn and Campbell demonstrate how thinking and relating are reflections of God's love for his creation. They incorporate traditional treatments offered by cognitive and interpersonal therapy yet go beyond by emphasizing the redemptive quality of a therapeutic relationship. If you're looking for a model of counseling informed by advances in modern psychology while honoring the rich tradition of the Christian faith--this is it! --Brandy Liebscher, Psy.D., Assistant Professor of Psychology, Simpson University

This is a most important contribution to the literature on the integration of Christianity and psychology. Such a book could not be more timely! --Richard E. Butman, Ph.D., Professor of Psychology, Wheaton College, and coauthor of Modern Psychotherapies and Modern Psychopathologies

These well-respected authors have given Christian therapists a useful example of how to integrate faith and work in the clinic office. Their model is especially valuable because it reflects an appreciation for the different levels on which human struggles occur and for the need to adapt our interventions accordingly. McMinn and Campbell have produced a good integration of good psychology and good theology. --James R. Beck, Ph.D., Senior Professor of Counseling, Denver Seminary, Littleton, Colorado This is a most important contribution to the literature on the integration of Christianity and psychology. Butman, Ph.D., Professor of Psychology, Wheaton College, and coauthor of Modern Psychotherapies and Modern Psychopathologies Integrative Psychotherapy is an example of integration at its finest. The book provides one of the first systematic theoretical models for Christian psychotherapy and the closest to a comprehensive Christian approach that has yet been written. It is easy to read and practical without sacrificing a more nuanced understanding of the complex relationship between Christianity and psychology. It is aimed at a broad intellectual audience, both students in undergraduate and graduate programs of psychology, including pastoral counseling as well as professional counselors, therapists and psychologists.--SirReadaLot.org, http: //www.sirreadalot.org/issues/backisues/0098.htm, May 2007 McMinn and Campbell demonstrate how thinking and relating are reflections of God's love for his creation.
