He is working in the field of synthetic chemistry and medicinal biochemistry, and his interests include the synthesis of medicinally important fluorinated fused heterocycles as potential anticancer agents, organic and inorganic nanoparticles for drug delivery, sensor and catalytic applications. Dr. Anil Chuturgoon is a Professor of Medical Biochemistry at the School of Laboratory Medicine and Medical Sciences, University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa. He is passionate about teaching and received the distinguished teacher award from the University of Natal in 2003. Dr. Chuturgoon’s research focuses on epigenetic investigations into in-cell survival mechanisms in response to toxic insult.
