When he turned twenty-four, he developed an interest in bodybuilding. However, after failing to achieve much success in the competition, he switched to training other athletes, at the same time becoming interested in sports pharmacology. The passion was so strong that Yuri devoted the rest of his life to it, and today he is the leading specialist in this field in Eastern Europe. Sports pharmacology soon became intertwined with a passion for writing. Between 2004 and 2011, Yuri Bombela held the position of editor-in-chief at Zheleznyi Mir magazine. While doing so, he continued to coach athletes, with Alexey Shabunya, Vasily Remizov, Bogdan Kravchenko, Dmitry Sushko, and Dmitry Koyava among his trainees. The year 2008 marked the release of Yuri Bombela's first book focusing on sports pharmacology. Currently, he has authored 12 books (not only in the field of sports pharmacology, but also in the field of sports nutrition), and more than a thousand articles.
