Overview

What appears on the following pages is the culmination of three years work into the study of violent criminals currently incarcerated on death row in the United States. The study was conducted between the years 1999-2001 and is based on letters, interviews and surveys that the thirty participants completed along with Kurtz. These thirty violent offenders willingly chose to participate in the study at Kurtz' invitation.

Author Information

Christopher J. Kurtz was born in 1972 in New York. He completed his Bachelors and Graduate degrees at St. John's University and received his doctorate from American International University in 1999. He has taught in Tennessee, Connecticut, and California. Dr. Kurtz is the poetry editor of Mocha Memoirs and currently teaches courses in the Psychology of Serial Murder at Virtual University.
