Agustina Giraudy is Assistant Professor at American University. Her research focuses on subnational democracy and subnational institutions in developing countries. She is the author of Democrats and Autocrats (2015). Eduardo Moncada is Assistant Professor of Political Science at Barnard College, Columbia University. His research focuses on crime, violence, and the political economy of development. He is the author of Cities, Business and the Politics of Urban Violence in Latin America (2016). Richard Snyder is a faculty fellow at the Watson Institute and a professor in the Department of Political Science at Brown University, Rhode Island. He is the author of Politics after Neoliberalism: Reregulation in Mexico (Cambridge, 2001) and Passion, Craft and Method in Comparative Politics (2007) with Gerardo L. Munck.
