OverviewWelcome to INSECTS, FLOWERS AND OTHER CUTE MONSTERS. In this book containing 181 pictures you will find images of many insects, flowers and other cute, little animals, going from caterpillars to bees, bumblebees, beetles, butterflies, ants, fish, wasps, seashells, crabs and many beautiful flowers growing in Europe. The images are unique and can't be found anywhere else. The photographs were taken in Europe, in countries like England, Portugal, Ireland, Poland, France, and Belgium. This book is about enjoying the contact with insects and other small animals and can be presented in front of small children, although adults will find it as well enjoyable. There are tender moments and also some sad moments. However, even in the sadness of natural events, I find a way to present the images beautifully. There is no general plan in the presentation of images, as if categorizing animals in natural groups. Instead, animals and flowers are presented one after the other, with rare, beautiful Irish seashells are interspersed here and there. What you will see is a different order that tries to combine types of animals and types of pictures in order to make the book as enjoyable and surprising as possible. You can expect to see little creatures of different colours and forms, some of which are totally unknown to me. I was not looking for specific animals, they just happened to pop up in front of the camera or while I was walking on the fields and forests. You will see lots of insects and arthropodous but also some quirky birds, fish, seashells and adorable snails. You will also see that I hold some animals on my hands or fingers. I only did it because they were in danger and to place them in a secure location. It is better to leave wild animals alone. However, if you attempt to do the same I did here, exercise the utmost care!. On one picture, you will see a tiny beetle confronting a big spider. She was waiting for preys on a leaf and the beetle happened to stumble inadvertently upon the dormant spider. To my relief, the beetle managed to escape by clumsily jumping from the tip of leaf in a sort of last resort, desperate action. This book is also good to explain the facts of life with insects and environmental issues. The images attempt to achieve a certain degree of artistry. The viewer will decide if I have achieved my goal. You will see, for example, tiny animals depicted against a blurred landscape or bigger objects. The photographs are presented in colour most of the time and in black and white sometimes. This is a very colourful book indeed. Taking the pictures in close contact with Nature was great fun. I hope that you will enjoy the contemplation of these unique images. The author. 2021.
