OverviewDrei Jahre nach den ersten beiden Banden (IG XII 4, 1 und 2) erscheint der dritte von sechs Banden, die die antiken Inschriften der Insel Kos sowie der Nachbarinseln Kalymna, Leros, Lepsia und Patmos enthalten. Der Band IG XII 4, 3 enthalt die mehr als 1800 Grabinschriften (darunter mehr als 300 inedita) aus der Stadt Kos und ihrer naheren Umgebung. Sie vermitteln ein eindrucksvolles Bild von der Attraktivitat der Polis fur die ostagaische Region und ihrer Bedeutung vor allem in spathellenistischer und fruhroemischer Zeit.
