Since graduation in 1980, he has been associated with University of Debrecen (the former Kossuth Lajos University). He worked as a postdoctoral fellow in Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry, Gottingen, Germany; as a visiting research professor at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, USA; and as an Alexander von Humboldt fellow at University of Witten/Herdecke, Germany. In early years he was involved in studying ligand substitution reactions of labile transition metal ions by NMR relaxation and chemical relaxation techniques. Later, his interest turned to the redox chemistry of simple inorganic species such as ozone, oxyhalogen compounds, sulfur (IV) etc. In recent years he was also involved in environmental assessment studies and preparing and characterization of functionalized aerogels. He has been the PI of several research projects in these fields. Gabor Lente received all his university degrees at the University of Debrecen, Hungary. In 1997, he graduated as an MSc in Chemistry with a supplementary degree in English-Hungarian translation. He received his PhD in 2001, then completed habilitation in 2008, and obtained a Doctor of Science degree from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 2013. He spent two years at Iowa State University, Ames, IA as a visiting scientist. His research has two main focuses. The first is experimental chemical kinetics mainly focusing on inorganic redox reactions, the second is a theoretical field centered on stochastic chemical kinetics. He has published two books with co-authors recently and is currently working on a third. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
