Overview

In October 2019, artist Dave Cavnar decided to join Inktober, a yearly illustration challenge on social media. Inky Lines from My Heart & Mind (or How a 31-Day Drawing Challenge Changed My Life) is a collection of one month of Dave's daily drawings, paired with brief essays and reflections on his thought process behind each of his Inktober entries. His hope is that Inky Lines from My Heart & Mind can be enjoyed as a coffee-table book, bathroom companion, or a centerpiece for your entire life-and serve as an inspiration to find whatever creative energy is swirling within your heart and mind-and bring it into the world.

As one of seven kids, author Dave Cavnar spent countless childhood hours drawing, coloring, and escaping into imaginary worlds. After rediscovering art and creative expression in his late twenties, he has done everything in his power to return to that early space of creativity and play as much as possible. Dave is a writer, illustrator, creativity coach, and tattoo artist currently living in the mountains of Western North Carolina.
