Overview

Despite significant progress in modern gastroenterology, the aetiology of inflammatory bowel disease as well as coeliac disease is still to a great extent unknown and poorly understood. The principles of treatment - particularly of IBD - emphasize the importance of a combined medical and surgical approach.
