Reviews

A well-defined industrial policy or strategy is absolutely essential in order to ensure a strong, competitive, and innovative economy with persistently high growth rates. In this respect, academic research is a vital input, not only providing guidance but also acting as a stimulus in developing appropriate strategies ... Industrial Organization in Canada is an invaluable contribution that discusses and pinpoints the need for research in certain sectors, empirically evaluates the effects of existing policies, and develops theoretical models that can be used by policymakers to assess the likely impacts of possible industrial strategies. There are no other books that are of such contemporary relevance and such wide-ranging depth and coverage. Anindya Sen, Department of Economics, University of Waterloo
