OverviewThe main characters are Peter, an American WWII veteran who has become a war correspondent for United Press and Yvonne, a Chinese doctor who works at a French Military Hospital in Hanoi. They meet in the rainy season of 1950, during the First Indochina War (France vs Vietminh). It ends in 1956, 2 years after the Geneva Accords, with the epilogue in the Indochina's Dry Season of 1960-61. Peter and Yvonne lived in a mysterious world full of conflict that has been re-paved by modernity without erasing its legacy. This book, in a fictional context, attempts to recreate it. The two main characters have a very colorful relationship, but they are torn by the War. The novel pays major attention to accuracy, historical continuity and bringing the reader into L'Indo-Chine Française of 1947. This period has been called the ""Prehistory of the U.S. War in Vietnam"". The genre is Romance/Historical. The book is written in English but has French elements in it.
