THE BOOK: This book is a 2018 comprehensive guide for estate planning to avoid probate by using the new Indiana Transfer on Death (TOD) law. Applicable laws to assist in estate planning are set forth and explained, together with 24 forms. Forms include: TOD Deed and Bill of Sale, Power of Attorney, Designation of Healthcare Representative, Living Will, Simple Will and various Trusts. Each person's estate is unique and the book is intended primarily to inform the reader as to the possible disposition of the estate at death to avoid probate, and the time and expense thereof. Final decisions, and the final preparation of required documents, should be made after consultation with an Indiana attorney. THE AUTHOR: John R. Berger is an attorney, a graduate of Hillsdale College (1950 BS Summa Cum Laude), Harvard Law School (JD 1953), and a retired Judge of the Steuben Circuit Court and Professor of Law, Tri-State University.
