Author Information

Kent Blansett is Langston Hughes Associate Professor of Indigenous Studies and History at the University of Kansas. He is the author of A Journey to Freedom: Richard Oakes, Alcatraz, and the Red Power Movement.   Cathleen D. Cahill is Associate Professor of History at Penn State University. She is the author of Federal Fathers and Mothers: A Social History of the United States Indian Service, 1869–1933 and Recasting the Vote: How Women of Color Transformed the Suffrage Movement. Andrew Needham is Associate Professor of History at New York University. He is the author of Power Lines: Phoenix and the Making of the Modern Southwest.
