Overview

India Basin Triangle is a crime novel in the San Francisco Noir tradition. Based on an actual case involving international drug traffickers in the rollicking 1980s, the story juxtaposes the thoughts and actions of three main characters as they move inevitably toward a final collision that is quietly orchestrated by a mysterious woman.Henry Acua, the dedicated, straight-shooting FBI agent in charge is one angle of the triangle. Jairo Restrepo, the cunning and intelligent Colombian drug lord is another. And Jack Lauer, a neer-de-well, good time Charley ex-Navy Seal completes the pyramid and creates a snapshot of the era. San Fracisco, Costa Rica and an exotic Caribbean island form the backdrop for this journey to a spider web of political intrigue and ambiguity, moral relativism and unbridled hedonism.E-book version is also available for both (Amazon) Kindle and (Barnes & Noble) Nook for $7.99.

Author Information

"Author/Lecturer Craig Carrozzi's works are as eclectic as his lifestyle and reflect his deep commitment to writing and story-telling as an artistic way of life rather than simply a craft or profession. In his early 20s, Carrozzi worked and lived for two years as a recreation director/counselor in a juvenile facility and as a construction manager in Colombia. Then he went to Brasil and worked as an English teacher in Salvador, Bahia. He also made numerous adventure trips all over the continent, including sojourns to the Amazon River, Machu Pichu, and other lesser known but perhaps even more interesting places. The result of this three year ferment was a trilogy of South American adventure travel books, ""Wedding of the Waters"", ""The Road to El Dorado"" and ""Festival of Conception"". A native San Franciscan, Carrozzi used his life experiences and the rich history of this city as the backdrop for three historical novels. ""City 'Scapes"" is a nostalgic look at the San Francisco Giants baseball team in the early 60s as seen through the eyes of two young boys. ""The Curse of Chief Tenaya"" is a journey to the Old West involving a true Indian curse and a requiem to the Hetch Hetchy Valley which was expropriated from Yosemite National Park to serve as San Francisco's drinking fountain. ""India Basin Triangle"" is the author's latest work and reflects his interest in Noir novels and films such as ""The Maltese Falcon"" and ""The Big Sleep"". Much of the material for this story came from Carrozzi's experience as a Spanish translator for the FBI in the early 1980s. He was hired through an agency to transcribe and translate hundreds of hours of taped phone conversations between an international cocaine ring and their customers and collaborators. It was a famous case at the time and made front page headlines. Other books are in the works. Carrozzi recently spent a year in Yucatan, Mexico studying traditional Mayan medicine. If his previous history holds true, there will certainly be another Chapter in his life as art story."
