OverviewThis book analyses India’s Network-Centric Warfare (NCW) capabilities and how well they are integrated into the Indian armed forces, especially the Indian Army. It explores primarily the technological and to a more limited extent the doctrinal and organisational issues that are related to NCW. It assesses how three technologies that are central to NCW – cyber, electronic warfare, and space – are being developed and integrated by the Indian armed services. In addition, it also analyses partially how the Indian armed services acquire and integrate Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Technology in specific areas and also explores the need for the Indian armed services to acquire Kinetic Energy Weapons (KEWs) and Directed Energy Weapons (DEWs), especially microwave and laser weapons. A part of the International Politics in the Age of Disruption series, the book will be indispensable for students and researchers of military studies, security studies, cyber warfare, political studies, international relations, security studies, and South Asian studies.
