I look for antique and vintage cars and trucks that are odd, different or more obscure. When I received a paperback copy of Independent Car Companies of the USA by Alan Naldrett, and a request for an editorial review, I thought I would just skim through it and find some interesting prospects. How wrong I was. I wound up reading every word of this book. The amount of research conducted by the author is staggering. It digs deep into the start of each obscure nameplate. While a majority of companies sprang from buggy or carriage makers, others evolved from diverse manufacturers. And while the demise of some were from going bankrupt, other companies turned to alternate products to survive. And numerous others are part of the deep bloodlines of modern manufacturers. If you like history, this book dredges up heaps of it for you to digest. - Birdman, Vintage Automotive 3D Modeling Author InformationTab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
