OverviewThis book is a small collection of topics on various consequences of trauma and daily challenges faced by survivors of sexual violence within the family. In the context of family, this means from childhood onward. The book also recounts part of my healing journey, which would not have been possible without the invaluable practical knowledge and unparalleled dedication of the victim protection organization ""El Faro"" Berlin. Through active work with other survivors, I have gained knowledge and experience over time, that provide a small insight into the full extent of such complex trauma as sexual violence perpetrated by one's own parents and close confidants. Every fate is unique and often involves complex personal issues and long-term consequences. Incest typically involves developmental trauma, which often leads to further danger and violence in adulthood. Therefore, breaking off contact and protecting victims are crucial to achieving a safe and self-determined life. The experiences described are based on the concept of ""help for self-help"" and offer suggestions for improving quality of life, fostering security, and developing a deeper understanding of these experiences. This book is intended for survivors, interested parties, and dedicated helpers.
