In 1981, detective Kay Schucker was the lead investigator in the high-profile missing persons case of Old Dominion University student Janice Starr. The beautiful coed disappeared without a trace from ODU's Norfolk, Virginia campus. Among the only leads was Janice's diary, which included detailed journal entries about her daily activities. As Kay studied the diary--going several years back--she learned that Janice, a US Army veteran, had faced the same challenges in the military that Kay did in law enforcement. In the Wind is the fourth book by bestselling author Ron Peterson, Jr. He is also the author of Under the Trestle, which is recognized as one of the best true crime books of all time and was adapted as a documentary film by Mactavish Pictures. His book Chasing the Squirrel was optioned to Los Angeles-based Urban Legends Film Company for development as a television series. Peterson was a journalism major at Radford University where he was a writer and editor for the university newspaper. His professional experience includes leadership positions with the Virginian-Pilot as well as a background in television advertising, managing ad campaigns for Fortune 500 companies. Peterson makes his home in historic downtown Smithfield, Virginia. Kyle Tait is a professionally trained voice actor and narrator in Atlanta, Georgia. His first brush with a microphone came in sports radio, calling baseball in the Atlanta Braves' organization. To pass the time in the off-season, he started voicing audiobooks, and a few years later he left baseball and went into narration full-time. Now his voice can be heard on a variety of audiobook and corporate voice-over outlets worldwide. When not in the studio, Tait can still be found moonlighting in the sports world, calling football, basketball, baseball, and softball on a variety of TV and radio outlets. He's also a studio host with IMG College, anchoring football and basketball broadcasts for schools like TCU, UConn, and Arizona.
