OverviewIt was May 8th, 2009 at about 8 pm, I was standing in a parking lot at our old church in Dallas talking to one of my friends. We had just completed a women's banquet. Every year I looked forward to this event. Women came from all denominations. We gathered and fellow-shipped. Standing there, we found ourselves discuss a new virus called, swine flu. It had been reported that it was spreading fast and left death in its trail. The US Department of Health, had issue warning and precautions. They also had been educating the public on the dangers posed by new string of a deadly virus. Areas close to the border with Mexico were at risk. We were concerned especially parents. Children were at the highest risk. Naturally they for-get to wash hands and have high mobility. Not to mention, schools where they meet other kids from different families. It doesn't take much for a virus to spread. Everyone was at risk. I feared for my children the most. Joshua was 11, Mil-lie was 10 and Rachael was 5 at the time. My friend had a 5-year-old also. We talked about it for about 30 minutes or so before partying ways for the evening.
