Author Information

Dr. Daugherty served eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps, including a combat tour in Vietnam. Following his military service, he joined the Central Intelligence Agency where for seventeen years he served as an operations officer. His final assignment included serving as CIA liaison to the National Security Council Staff for covert action policy. He then taught for 17 years at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, Georgia, retiring as Professor Emeritus of Government. Dr. Daugherty has a BA in Social Sciences from the University of California-Irvine and a PhD in Government from the Claremont Graduate School. He is presently Dean of Graduate Studies at the Daniel Morgan Academy in Washington, DC. He maintains his permanent residence in Savannah.
