Overview"The Communion service is an essential ministry for many reasons. The truths represented in Communion are the fundamental doctrines that set Christianity apart from any other religion. Those truths need to be presented and defended. According to some, doctrine has become a bad word that narrows and limits the ministries of the church. But our foundation rests upon the death, burial, resurrection, ascension, and imminent return of Christ. Those central doctrines are all presented in the ordinance of the Lord's Table. ""In Remembrance of Me is a profound work of passion and extensive study by a pastor for pastors, deacons, and the faithful. It skillfully educates all to see the Communion Service as far more than a sacred ordinance to be administered periodically by the New Testament church."" - Robert M. Riley - Supervisory Special Agent in Charge - Federal Investigative Services" Full Product DetailsAuthor: Dale ByersPublisher: Faithful Life Publishers Imprint: Faithful Life Publishers Dimensions: Width: 15.20cm , Height: 2.00cm , Length: 22.90cm Weight: 0.503kg ISBN: 9781937129811ISBN 10: 1937129810 Pages: 378 Publication Date: 10 June 2013 Audience: General/trade , General Format: Paperback Publisher's Status: Active Availability: Available To Order ![]() We have confirmation that this item is in stock with the supplier. Table of ContentsReviewsI have known Dale for more than forty years and have found him to be a great servant of faith, a pastor with a shepherd's heart and a gifted writer on note worthy subjects. Brother Byers most recent undertaking, In Remembrace of Me, is a volume that I wish had been available when I began my pastoral ministry some fifty years ago. Books on the subject of the Lord's Table have been few in number and I anticipate this one to be of great value not only in the pastor's library but also that of lay people. You will find not only a well documented history of various views on the Lord's Table, helpful charts and statistics but also a biblical treatise as found in the Book of Acts and I Corinthians based upon our Lord's original intent. An excellent bibliography reveals his in-depth research on this subject. It is not only theological in content but also very practical and homiletical. Chapter Six alone will give pastors numerous launching points for sermons, devotionals and homilies as he leads his people in the participation of the Communion Service. I have often purchased a book for just the information in one chapter. This volume contains several chapters of informative content and I would hope that it will find its way unto the shelf of many of the Lord's people, not only in this generation, but also the in the generations to come. - Maynard H.
