He then worked as a research assistant at the Center for Security Studies, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. After having served as a staff officer in KFOR in 2001, he resumed his Ph.D. studies as a visiting fellow at the Centre for Defence Studies, King's College London.
