Jim Daniels, author of Gun/Shy: Poems" Author InformationTimothy Russell, born in Steubenville, Ohio, in 1951 and raised in Follansbee, West Virginia. He passed away in September of 2021 at Toronto, Ohio where he and his wife Jodi lived and raised their four children. The author was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as a military dog trainer. From 1970 to 1998 he worked as boilermaker, millwright, and crane operator at Weirton Steel Industries in the Ohio Valley. While working at Weirton Steel, Russell earned a bachelor's degree from West Liberty State University and a Master of Arts degree in creative writing from the University of Pittsburgh. The author received many awards for his writing, including the notable Terence de Prix Award for the publication of 1993 of Adversaria: Poems and a 10-day trip to Japan in 1998 for his haiku poetry writing. Jodi (Dolan) Russell is an excellent photographer and baker. Busy as a grandmother, she lives on in Toronto, Ohio, and works at an area restaurant. She is an avid gardener, belonging to the Wheeling Herb Society, in Wheeling, West Virginia. She is also in the Dillonvale and the Woodland garden clubs and belongs to The Questers, Hetty Elizabeth Beatty chapter, in Steubenville, Ohio. Marc Harshman is the seventh Poet Laureate of West Virginia and an author of more than 14 award-winning books for children. His most recent books of poetry are Dark Hills of Home and Woman in Red Anorak. He and his wife, Cheryl, live in Wheeling, West Virginia. Larry Smith is a native of the Ohio Valley and director of Bottom Dog Press and Bird Dog Publishing. He is the author of books of fiction, memoir, and poetry and a professor emeritus of Bowling Green State University. His recent book of poems is Mingo Town and Memories. He and his wife Ann live in along the lake in Huron, Ohio Ivan Russell has worked many jobs including generator mechanic, broadcast journalist, print journalist, insurance agent and administrative assistant. He currently lives and works in Pittsburgh, often driving past the confluence of the mighty Ohio River, which inspired his father Tim.
