OverviewThe purpose of this annotated bibliography is to assist interested persons gain access to materials relevant to efforts aimed at improving organizational health. Its intent is to present the articles in the field of organizational development beginning with those works published in 1990 and concluding in early 2012. Organizational development became a more established field during the 1970s and 1980s with courses and programs being offered in business, education, and administration curricula. During the 1990s and 2000s organizational development has continued to grow and evolve and its influences are seen in theories and strategies throughout the literature. The works included are representative of the following: (a) theoretical statements, (b) empirical studies, (c) conceptual formulations, (d) case studies, (e) descriptive articles that present techniques used in organizational change endeavors. Abstracts of the articles and books contain descriptions of the primary ideas and a listing of major topics included. A table of contents is provided for articles and books are listed in author surname alphabetical order. Author and topic indices follow the article abstracts. (Capella University) is Dean of the School of Business at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, TN. He is also an adjunct professor of business at Kaplan University. His academic research interests are leadership, strategy, sustainability, and ethics. Dr. McCann and his wife Kathy, a nurse, reside in southeastern KY. Contact: jack.mccann@lmunet.edu Mr. Gabor Heredi-Szabo graduated from Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) in 2010 with a B.B.A. degree majoring in management. He is currently pursuing an MBA degree with concentrations in management and marketing. He also works as a Graduate Assistant at the School of Business at LMU under the direction of Dean Dr. Jack McCann. During his undergraduate studies at LMU, he was a member of the LMU Railsplitter Men's tennis team for four years that won the South Atlantic Conference title in 2010. After finishing his carrier as a student athlete, he is continuing his work with the LMU Railsplitter Tennis Team as a volunteer assistant coach.
