Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationProfessor Sheila McLean has a worldwide reputation for her work in study of medical ethics and law. She established the Institute of Law and Ethics in Medicine at the University of Glasgow in 1985 and is still its director. She serves on a number of national and international committees, is frequently consulted by Government on medico-legal matters, and has published extensively in the area of medical law, including writing a regular newspaper column on medical ethics. Dr Laura Williamson is Research Associate at the Institute of Law and Ethics in Medicine, University of Glasgow. Her research interests are in the areas of bioethics, clinical ethics and public health ethics.
