Significant improvements in the leukocytes immunophenotypic characterization have recently given rise to numerous medical applications in the haematological and immunological fields. This book is designed to give the biologist all the necessary information needed to select and conduct a test correctly, and to interpret the result. Thus, it will improve the communication between the biologist and the clinician which will enable the clinician to have increased confidence in the test. Technical procedures of immunophenotyping, already described in detail elsewhere, are not expanded in this volume, however, some technical principles are explained when they provide information useful for interpretation.
