Author Information

Rebecca A. Cox, Ph.D., is the Director of the Department of Research Immunology at the San Antonio State Chest Hospital and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Cox graduated in 1972 from the Medical College of Georgia with a Ph.D. degree in microbiology and then completed postdoctoral training in medical mycology at the University of Oklahoma in 1974. Dr. Cox is a member of the American Society for Microbiology, the Infectious Disease Society of America, and the Medical Mycological Society of the Americas. She has served on the Bacteriology and Mycology-2 Study Section at the National Institutes of Health and is currently a member of the editorial boards for Infection and Immunity and Current Topics in Medical Mycology. Dr. Cox has presented numerous lectures at international and national scientific meetings and has published more than 45 scientific papers. Her major research interests include host-parasite interaction in the fungal diseases.
