While growing up as an Army Brat, she attended nine different schools across three different countries. Joy graduated from the University of Kansas, School of Journalism and has an MBA from Baker University. She was inspired to start writing picture books after years of naptime and bedtime reading with her two sons. She lives with her family in Los Angeles, California."
