Ronald Lawrence Vornberg died in 1992. His sister Cathy walked with him as he struggled and finally succumbed to a rare form of cancer. This memoir is about his journey--and hers. His death was not the end of it. She had promised to write down his story so that his children would know what his last days were like. She had no trouble telling the story to anyone who would listen, but writing it down for others to read was another matter. It took more than twenty years, but it was her turn to walk. And it was a journey that had to be taken.

Catherine Vornberg Mora began her working life as a hairdresser and salon owner for twenty-six years. Between 2001 and 2009, she was a partner with her husband in the mortgage lending business. Now that her decades-long dream of completing and publishing her first book has come to pass, she is working on a second memoir, Broken Commandments: A Hairdresser's Guide to Sin and Redemption. Catherine currently lives in Colorado Springs with her husband of thirty-four years, Henry Mora, and her precious puppy, Duchess. Her other precious treasure is her only child, Heather Mora, who lives in Denver.
