1:1 In principio era il Verbo, e il Verbo era presso Dio, e il Verbo era Dio. 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 1:2 Lo stesso era nel principio presso Dio. 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God. 1:3 Tutte le cose sono state fatte per mezzo di lui; e senza di lui neppure una delle cose fatte è stata fatta. 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 1:4 In lui era la vita, e la vita era la luce degli uomini. 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 1:5 E la luce splende nelle tenebre, e le tenebre non l'hanno accolta. 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 1:6 Vi fu un uomo mandato da Dio, il cui nome era Giovanni. 1:6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 1:7 Egli venne come testimone per rendere testimonianza alla luce, affinché tutti credessero per mezzo di lui. 1:7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 1:8 Egli non era la Luce, ma fu mandato per rendere testimonianza alla Luce. 1:8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
