Reviews

Praise for Ike and Winston: ""Jonathan Jordan has brought the vital quarter-century relationship between Eisenhower and Churchill vividly alive in this profoundly researched and superbly written book. He conveys the subtle power shift between the two men brilliantly, as the deep personal friendship faced just as deep world-historical and political stresses. Mr Jordan deserves congratulation on a fine piece of history and psychological insight."" —Lord (Andrew) Roberts, New York Times bestselling author of Churchill: Walking with Destiny ""Jonathan W. Jordan delivers a masterful account of the bond between General Dwight D. Eisenhower and Prime Minister Winston Churchill—two leaders forged in the crucible of war, navigating the shifting tides of history with grit, strategy, and an unbreakable alliance. From the beaches of Normandy to the battlefields of the Cold War, Ike and Winston captures the high-stakes decisions, the battlefield camaraderie, and the political maneuvering that defined the 20th century. Deeply researched and expertly written, this is a book that pulls back the curtain on the men behind the legends—brothers-in-arms, adversaries, and ultimately, allies to the end. A must-read for students of leadership, history, and warfare."" —Jack Carr, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Red Sky Mourning “In his new book Ike and Winston, New York Times bestselling author Jonathan W. Jordan has crafted a beautiful story of the endearing friendship between General Dwight Eisenhower and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, two men from far different worlds who came together to win World War II and shape the postwar era. This is a sweeping narrative, written with a keen eye for detail and tremendous heart. And as Jordan so masterfully demonstrates, history often turns on individuals, personalities, and the bonds leaders forge in moments of crisis and triumph. Never was that more true than in the case of Ike and Winston. This is history at its absolute finest."" —James M. Scott, Pulitzer Prize finalist and author of Black Snow, Rampage, and Target Tokyo

Each page glistens with spectacular prose buttressed by superb research. Monumental decisions alongside seemingly forgotten smaller moments are chronicled in a sweeping page-turning narrative I had difficulty putting down. Jon Jordan has beautifully captured one of history's most pivotal friendships between two towering individuals who saved and changed the world.” —Patrick K. O’Donnell Military Historian & Bestselling Author of The Unvanquished
