An early admiration for David Bowie led him to the work of Iggy Pop, whose music, alongside that of Lou Reed and Nick Cave, he holds in enduring esteem.

He studied fine art in York (UK), Ghent (BE) and Utrecht (NL), and honed his craft through residencies in New York City. After teaching art in Amsterdam, he now mentors neurodivergent art academy students and volunteers with the foundation Drawing for Children.
