Overview

The proposed book should collect the Proceedings of the Workshop Incontri di Fisica delle Alte Energie (IFAE) 2006, Pavia, 19-21 April 2006. The workshop is the fifth edition of a series of workshops on fundamental research in particle physics, as carried on at the most important international laboratories, and possible fallouts in medical and technological applications. Researches in this field aim at identifying the most elementary constituents of matter, and understanding the nature of the fundamental forces of nature. The workshop has been organized by Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare, Pavia Unit, and Dipartimento di Fisica Nucleare e Teorica, University of Pavia. It has been organized into plenary sessions, in which the most recent developments in particle physics have been addressed by senior distinguished scientist, and parallel sessions, in which junior scientists discuss themes such as Standard Model Physics, New Physics, Flavour Physics, Neutrinos and Cosmic Rays, Detectors and New Technologies.
