OverviewWhat is love? How can we find it? How can we live it? These are the questions that Rumi explores in his masterpiece, the Masnavi, a collection of stories and teachings that reveal the secrets of the heart and the path to God. In this book, you will find: A faithful and poetic translation of the first four anecdotes and the prologue of Rumi's Masnavi A rhymed and rhythmic verse that captures the beauty and charm of the original Persian poem A clear and accessible language that makes Rumi's wisdom accessible to modern readers A comprehensive interpretation of key Sufistic elements in Rumi's poetry verse by verse This translation is done by Amin, who has been living in Canada for more than 20 years, and who studied computer systems and worked in several companies in Vancouver, where he always had to deal with documentation, presentations, and meetings with English-speaking patrons. In addition, Amin lived in Iran during his youth and studied Persian literature courses in high school and university where his passion and enthusiasm for Persian spiritual literature has been growing ever since. Amin spent two years researching the works of well-known commentators on Rumi's poetry to translate Rumi's Masnavi in this book. His translation has been praised by many readers and experts, such as: ""Amin's translation is a remarkable achievement. He has managed to convey not only the meaning but also the spirit and the music of Rumi's Masnavi. This is a translation that will delight and inspire anyone who loves Rumi."" - Professor David York, York University ""If you are looking for a fresh and authentic translation of Rumi's Masnavi, look no further than this book. Amin has done a superb job of rendering Rumi's poetry into English with grace and elegance. This book is a treasure for anyone who wants to learn from Rumi's timeless wisdom and beauty."" - Dr. Maria Garcia, Rumi Foundation Columnist If you are ready to embark on a journey of love and spirituality with Rumi, order your copy of this book today and enjoy the magic of his poetry. To give you a glimpse of what you will find in this book, let me share with you one of the stories that Rumi tells in his Masnavi. This story is one of the most famous and beloved ones in Rumi's Masnavi because it shows how love can transform us and lead us to God. In the first story of his book, Rumi tells us a triangular love story in which the king's sweetheart at some point in their romance misses her ex-lover and starts covertly agonizing over their parting, so her moods fall off the cliff and endanger her health, making everyone in the castle worried and perplexed. Then just like so many other times, Rumi leaves his narration and starts describing the pain of love: ""Her whine was a symptom issued from her heart! Among the pains, the love pain is worlds apart! No misery is the same as love miseries. Love is a means of revealing God's mysteries. I keep describing love a lot; however, Falling in love, I can't explain it whatsoever! Though tongue may sound very descriptive; Without it, love's more indicative. The pen was writing all words smoothly fast, But once it got to ""love"" it could not last! Explaining it, the brain went into grief; Just love could give us its own perfect brief.""
